About Me

General Santos City, Philippines
I am a mother of two wonderful children. Lorelie (15) and Matthew (5). Since my children are a decade apart, I assume different roles and take numerous interests in order to be lovable and loved, respectable and respected. I am their friend, guidance counselor, teacher and mentor. Hence, an eclectic mother.

I am an ESTP

Just out of curiosity, I had a brain scan.  Well, this blog at least using Typealyzer.

This is what I am supposed to be.

Much thanks to Leonard Pe for being the way to enlightenment!

Lyka is not a horse!

Lyka, is our golden labrador. She came to us before the Angel/Piolo TV series "Lobo." We named her after the first dog in space. With all due respect to Angel Locsin, I feel I need to explain this because our Lyka is more special to us than be named after a local showbiz personality.

Anyway, Johan used to be so scared of Lyka primarily because of her size. And secondly, because she trampled on Johan while they were playing months before. After that incident, Johan would never be caught playing with her... ever. Well, not until Lyka had puppies. Johan simply adored the pups.

The video above was taken when the whelping space needed cleaning, and somebody has to keep Lyka preoccupied and away from the litter. Johan happily volunteered.

Leonora Lorelie Louise 15th Birthday

God, how fast they grow! My not-so-little girl turned 15 last October 20. After a really manic day at the office, and a belt-tightening week, we spent a nice dinner celebration at Paseo del Sol Steak House.

What was originally planned as an intimate family dinner turned out to be a party! The celebrant turns 15 years old, and Lo! there were 15 guests! It was her day so we simply rode on the wave.

An evening at Paseo will not be complete without the best seller... Baby Back Ribs (to die for!) and Lemon Iced Tea (real tea leaves ad real lemon slices)! Hhhhmmmm....

Johan, however, would have none of the fancy stuff... He just wanted the barbeque and atchara combo meal! LOL.

Paseo del Sol, located at the National Highway, General Santos City offers a wide variety of affordable steaks and grilled dishes in a wholesome and relaxing ambience. The crew are competent and friendly. I definitely recommend this gastronomic haven for your next family get-together.

Mauled Family Needs Prayers

A fellow blogger sent me a link to this blog post. I am extremely outraged by the incident. Behavior displayed by the offenders nullify the efforts of Mindanaons towards peace and a better image.

This is the image of Unhonorable Mayor, Nasser Pangandaman, Jr.
(Thanks to "The Professional Heckler" for his commentary below)
Pangandamans React.
Personally, I felt rage when I saw the kid on TV crying. A first year high school student mauled by a town mayor, son of a Cabinet official. Grrrr! The boy’s face was badly bruised. To give you an idea how bad it was, when I saw his face on TV, I sort of appreciated what Vicki Belo did to her own.

Have you heard the news? The Pangandamans are reportedly filing a libel case against the victims. Insane! You did something bad. You become the subject of negative news. And then you file a libel case? Who do you think you are… the First Gentleman?!

Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman Sr. apologized for the mauling incident at a golf course last Friday involving his son, Nasser Jr - mayor of Masiu, Lanao Del Sur. However, Pangandaman insisted “hindi kagustuhan ng bawat isa ito.” Wow. Are you telling us that while your son and his armed goons were attacking the boy, they were shouting, “Promise! Hindi namin ‘to gusto! Labag ito sa aming kalooban! Ayaw naming gawin ‘to!” Try again Mr. Secretary.

Didn’t you notice? Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman Sr. is all over the news – TV, radio, print, and the Internet - explaining, defending, and apologizing for his son’s despicable act. Here’s an appeal to our journalists: could someone please verify rumors that Nasser Jr was actually mute?

Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman Sr. told the press, “Humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa nangyari. Hindi ko rin gusto ang nangyari.” When Sen. Richard Gordon heard this, he said, “Parang narinig ko na ‘yan ah… sa book launching ni JDV?”

A Mother's Advice to Young Adult Daughters

You are in your favorite hang-out, enjoying an evening with your girl friends. Good clean fun, sharing stories, laughs and a few bottles of "not-so-softdrinks."  Then, at the corner of your eye you caught a glimpse of an eye-candy son of Adam looking at you.  You slightly tilted your head to meet his gaze.  He smiled and walked towards you.

As he came close enough to make small talk in a noisy public party place he asked, "Hi, can I have your name?"

What do you do? This guy is too good looking to pass up.  You'd be the envy of your peers for having bagged such a catch.  Ladies, before your imagination drifts off to romanceville, please consider some possibilities that mothers have already experienced.

He asked for your name.  You must think, "What for?"  Darlings, most likely, HE IS GAY.  He asked for your name because he is scouting beautiful young ladies' names to check whether it would suit him.  For example, if he's named Roldan... what would a Danica, or a Daniele, or a Dolly typically look like?

Let's go back to the scene....  "Hi, can I have your name?", he asked

You answer, "Why, what wrong with your name?"

--oooOooo--

Second possibility is, it's not only your name is wants to have.

He asked for your name.  You must think, "Is knowing my name the only thing he is interested in?" You have to admit my darlings, that men in bars are not particularly looking for serious relationships.  Men frequent the night scene looking for FUN.  The most important fact that you have to remember and believe in, is that you are a PERSON and not a TOY.

Now, let go back to the scene, again..... "Hi, can I have your name?"

You answer, "Are you sure it's all you want?"

When you see him change color, it means you saw right through his pathetic modus operandi.  And you, and your friends can just walk away.

P.S.  When you answer his question with, "Yes you can, but you may not."  And he doesn't understand, please walk away.  His I.Q. is so low that it is located somewhere between his waist and knees!

P.P.S.  Yes, I know what your thinking.  What if it was the right man for you and you blew your chance of meeting him?  Don't worry, if both of you are meant to be together, life has a funny way of making a U-turn, and give you another chance to know each other under more favorable and pleasant circumstances.  That's why it's called "Destiny"
